Looking for the right home for our dog Ollie.

Ollie is 3 years old short legged Jack Russell Terrier. He has been Neutered. 

He is very smart & obedient, has great recall and is crate trained. He can be quite stubborn and likes his own space, is happiest when outside and needs a lot of exercise. Ollie likes a lot of walks, mostly off-lead and would benefit from being in an environment he can be worked in, such as a farm or with a trainer who has worked with his breed.

He would not be suited to a family with young children. Ollie can be affectionate, but is not an overly cuddly dog. He is a great companion but needs someone with patience who understands he can be temperamental. Ollie is great with other dogs and would benefit from a multi-dog home. He gets very excited around cats, so we don’t think he would be suited to living with other animals except dogs. He is very friendly, loveable and super clever.

We are rehoming Ollie due to worries surrounding his temperament with our one year old son. Ollie has been snappy in the past when touched and our son is not yet at have impulse control or boundaries Ollie needs. Ollie also sometimes resource guards, which we have worked on extensively with a trainer. We have also done behavioural training and agility with him to put all his energy to good use! Unfortunately, we struggle to trust Ollie with our child and want him to be in a home in which he can thrive in and is the correct environment for him. He’s a fantastic dog and deserves a more appropriate home.

We will not be asking for any payment for Ollie. We are devastated to have to rehome him as he has been a family member for the past three years and we love him dearly. Our focus is finding an appropriate home he can thrive and receive the attention and training he deserves/ requires.
