About This Dog

Douglas's ideal home

Douglas is a sweet older boy who is looking for an understanding retirement home. He enjoys having a fuss once he knows you, is a big fan of treats, and LOVES playing with toys!! Douglas has shown some resource guarding behaviours around his toys, so will need a family who can understand this, and work on his training in this area with the support of our training team. For this reason he is also better suited to live with teenagers 15 years and over who can respect his space. He could also potentially live with another similar minded calm dog after a successful meet at the centre. Douglas is also worried for veterinary handling and is learning to wear a muzzle when he sees the vet. As we have no home history for Douglas he will need all of his basics including housetraining and time left alone to be built up nice and gradually while he finds his feet. Douglas is a lovely older boy who has so much potential in a relaxed, understanding environment.

Could you be Douglas's perfect match?

Douglas does have some ongoing medical needs that our adoption team would be happy to talk you through.
