Description

Sam's ideal home

Meet Sam, a sweet 11 year old Terrier with a zest for life and a heart full of love! Sam is searching for a calm, adult only home where he can be the centre of attention, free from visiting children or other pets. As a sensitive lad, he thrives with a small circle of trusted people who can provide the consistency he needs. While Sam bonds deeply with his humans and enjoys their company, he prefers visitors to respect his boundaries and adopt a hands-off approach at first. Once he knows you well, he’s happy to have his harness and lead fitted, which he must wear when out in public. He can be strong on the lead. Sam is indifferent towards other dogs, preferring to keep to himself and he needs to be the only pet in the home. He loves quiet walks in woods and fields, where he can sniff to his heart's content. Sam is learning to wear a muzzle comfortably, which will be essential for vet visits. Once settled in his new home, his new owners can gradually introduce leaving him alone with his toys and snuggly blanket for up to a couple of hours.

Could you be Sam's perfect match?

Sam loves his toys and will sometimes greet you with a toy. He also enjoys high value meaty treats, especially hotdogs and is willing to work hard to earn them. Once he knows people, he is accepting of a fuss. This lovely, older chap is housetrained and knows basic commands. He needs adopters who will continue with his ongoing training and confidence building. Sam will need them to make several visits, working alongside the team at the centre, to build trust with Sam before he can go home. If you're ready to provide a loving, patient, forever home for this sprightly and loyal companion, Sam will reward you with affection.

Jack Russell Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
