Description

Lexi's ideal home

Lexi is a lively 2 year old Terrier Cross seeking an adult only home with a maximum of 2 people and no visiting children. Although she likes exploring, Lexi can struggle around sounds and as a noise-sensitive girl, she is seeking a quiet home away from busy roads and where there are less triggers to overwhelm her. Lexi needs experienced and understanding owners who are able and willing to continue with her training programmes and routines and our training team here at Salisbury will be here to help settle Lexi into the home and support you every step of the way. Lexi enjoys the company of other dogs and will need to live with another confident dog pending a successful introduction here at our Centre. She cannot live with cats or small furries. Lexi travels well in the car. Leaving time will need to be built up slowly over time once she is settled in her new home.

Could you be Lexi's perfect match?

Lexi is a super-smart cookie and learns quickly. She prefers meaty treats which she takes gently. As well as her daily walks, she likes to use her brain and enjoys different types of enrichment ranging from kongs and snuffle mats to slow feeders and lickimats. Toys are Lexi's favourite thing and she loves to parade around with them. She will happily swap one toy for another and we have spotted her and one of her buddies having a game of tug. Lexi does take daily medication to help her cope with her anxieties and our team can offer advice on this to her adopters when she goes home. If you can offer Lexi the quiet environment where she can learn and thrive, please apply. Please be aware that Lexi's potential adopters must be happy to meet her multiple times both at the Centre and at home to start building that all important bond.

Jack Russell Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Jack Russell.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
